Greta Thunberg-Profile, Family, Awards, Speech

The Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg was born on 3 January 2003 in Stockholm. Growing up in times of an undeclared climate emergency, Thunberg had the urge to grasp the causes and effects of climate change at an early age. Greta Thunberg speech to World Leaders at UN World Climate Summit

She addressed & gave a speech on UN Climate Action Summit in New York where she expressed her grievance on how the World nation destroyed the Climate. She became popular after her sensational speech and she got nominated for Nobel Prize.

Greta Thunberg spanked world leaders Monday, Sep. 23, for failing younger generations by not taking sufficient steps to stop climate change. “You have stolen my childhood and my dreams with your empty words,” Thunberg said at the United Nations Climate Action Summit in New York. “You’re failing us, but young people are starting to understand your betrayal. The eyes of all future generations are upon you. And if you choose to fail us, I say we will never forgive you,” she added. Thunberg traveled to the U.S. by sailboat last month so she could appear at the summit. She and other youth activists led international climate strikes on Friday in an attempt to garner awareness ahead of the UN’s meeting of political and business leaders.

Greta Thunberg-TIME’s Person of the Year 2019:-

TIME Magazine named her one of the 100 most influential people and the youngest individual Time Person of the Year 2019. In September 2019, she addressed the UN Climate Action Summit in New York. Thunberg was also nominated for the 2019 Nobel Peace Prize.

Greta Thunberg sits in silence in the cabin of the boat that will take her across the Atlantic Ocean. Inside, there’s a cow skull hanging on the wall, a faded globe, a child’s yellow raincoat. Outside, it’s a tempest: rain pelts the boat, ice coats the decks, and the sea batters the vessel that will take this slight girl, her father and a few friends from Virginia to Portugal. For a moment, it’s as if Thunberg were the eye of a hurricane, a pool of resolve at the center of swirling chaos. Here, she speaks quietly. Out there, the entire natural world seems to amplify her small voice, screaming along with her.

Greta Thunberg saw her power in us, and we, in turn, see our power in her. Fighting in her home country, Sweden, for a future free from pollution, environmental degradation, and climate change, Greta is inciting steadfast students and shaming apathetic adults.

She realized early on that the powers that be would be stacked against her and her mission, stating, “We can’t save the world by playing by the rules, because the rules have to be changed.” Greta went on to plan a multitude of student protests centered on action against our changing climate. Climate change is our reality, and youth activists like Greta are doing everything within their power to work against it and demand a change.
