Marriage Assistance Schemes
Standard Criteria
• Scheme – I: Rs.25,000/ + 8 gm (1 sovereign) gold coin 22 carat is provided for making Thirumangalyam.
• Scheme – II: Rs.50,000/ + 8 grams gold (1 sovereign) 22 carat gold coin for making Thirumangalyam
• Social Welfare and Nutritious Meal Programme Department
Educational Criteria
• Scheme – I: The bride should have studied 10th Std (passed or failed) / for Tribes 5th Std
• Scheme – II: Degree Holders/ Diploma holders
There are five schemes comes under marriage schemes

- Dr. DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE
- E.V.R MANIAMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR DAUGHTERS OF POOR WIDOWS
- ANNAI THERESA NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR ORPHAN GIRLS
- Dr. MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTERCASTE MARRIAGE
1) MOOVALUR RAMAMIRTHAM AMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME
- To provide assistance to poor parents in getting their daughters married and to promote the educational status of poor girls.
- Not exceeding Rs.72,000/- per annum for the family
- Bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
- There is no upper age limit.
- Only one girl from a family is eligible
2) Dr. DHARMAMBAL AMMAIYAR NINAIVU WIDOW REMARRIAGE
- To encourage widow remarriage and to rehabilitate widows.
- Minimum age of 20 years for the bride and maximum age of 40 for the bridegroom
- No income ceiling and educational criteria for the scheme I – 15000 by ECS and 10000 by Cheque
- In case of Degree/Diploma – 30000 by ECS and 20000 by Cheque
3)E.V.R MANIAMMAIYAR NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR DAUGHTERS OF POOR WIDOWS
- To help the poor widows by providing assistance for the marriage of their daughters.
- Annual income of the family should not exceed Rs.72,000/-
- Bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
- There is no upper age limit.
- Only one daughter of the poor widow is eligible
4) ANNAI THERESA NINAIVU MARRIAGE ASSISTANCE SCHEME FOR ORPHAN GIRLS
- To help the orphan girls financially for their marriage.
- A bride should have completed 18 years of age at the time of marriage.
- There is no upper age limit.
5) Dr. MUTHULAKSHMI REDDY NINAIVU INTERCASTE MARRIAGE
- To abolish caste and community feelings based on birth and wiping out discrimination by encouraging inter-caste marriage.
- Inter caste married couple.
- No income limit
- Bride should have completed 18 years of age.
- There is no upper age limit.
There are wo categories of inter-caste marriages
• Category I – one spouse should be from the Scheduled caste / Scheduled tribe and the other from a different Community.
• Category II – one spouse is from another community (forward community) and the other from the Backward Class / Most Backward Class Community.
